OUT
OF BOUNDS
1. Defined by inside points of white stakes at ground level.
2. A ball lying beyond boundary walls, hedges or fences is out of
bounds. In the absence of white stakes near hedges a ball is out
of bounds if it lies under any part of a hedge.
3. On the 8th hole, a ball lying over the water on the left of the
whole length of the hole is out of bounds.
4. On the 9th hole the hedged area area to the right of the green
is out of bounds. as is also the flower bed and the ground beyond
the stone wall behind the green.
5. On the 18th hole, a ball lying over the stream beyond the practice
greens and which continues to the main drive is out of bounds.
6. The car park and the flower beds near the 10th tee are out of
bounds.

ROADS AND PATHWAYS
1. Artificially surfaced roads, paths are obstructions - Rule 24
definitions. Relief under Rule 24-2b.
2. A ball coming to rest on the entrance drive may be dropped without
penalty,

INTERNAL WALLS
1. These including those built round tees are deemed to be integral
parts of the golf course.

STONES IN BUNKERS
1. Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions ( Rule 24.1).

YOUNG TREES
1. Relief must be taken under Rule 24-b(i) from any staked tree.
In addition, similar relief must be taken from unstaked tree less
than 2 club lengths in height. Relief is not available from unstaked
trees without penalty more than 2 club length in height.

GROUND UNDER REPAIR
1. Only ground so marked can be treated as G.U.R. However bare patches
in areas where the grass is otherwise cut to fairway length or less
may be treated as G.U.R. in agreement with opponents or fellow competitors.

DRAINAGE DITCHES
1. From time to time, fairways may be slitted.
2. Relief is available under Rule 25-1b(i). If a ball rests in such
a slit. Similar relief is available for a ball coming to rest in
depressions caused by the filling in of drainage ditches.

TEMPORARY WINTER GREENS
1. Must be treated as G.U.R. when not in play.
